Brussels cleared the $55 billion Saudi buyout of EA on July 23, then cleared it again on subsidies July 30. CFIUS has until September 28.

The most interesting thing about the Saudi-led EA buyout this week was not another lawmaker letter. It was players showing up in person with 70,000 signatures and treating the deal like something worth publicly embarrassing.

Sony has now written down $765 million of its Bungie acquisition — $565 million in the most recent quarter alone. The analyst who covers the deal says there's more coming. The mistake wasn't Bungie. It was panic.
